Jean-Francois Lemay has over 30 years of experience in the life insurance industry. He currently is the Chief Actuary and CIO of Providence Life Assurance Company, a Bermuda life insurance company. He also serves on the board of Ohio State Life, a Texas-based annuity company. Most recently he was Chief Actuary of Alesia Re, a Cayman based life reinsurance company focusing on pension risk transfer. Previously, he was Chief Investment Officer of Front Street Re, a Cayman Reinsurance Company, overseeing investments, pricing and structuring of new reinsurance deals and developing the economic capital framework. Before that, he was CIO of NorthStar Re. His experience also includes VP, Portfolio Risk Optimization services at Sceptre Capital Management, where he developed and ran an optimization system for LDI of life-insurance assets and VP and Actuary, Corporate and Investments at Reinsurance Group of America. Mr. Lemay has built sophisticated models for risk management, capital allocation and the pricing of complex liabilities, such as variable annuities. He graduated as a Bachelor of Actuarial Science from Laval University, Quebec.
